More Patients to lose Medical Rights on July 1

Beginning July 1, 2013, all patients with a Cigna plan seeking the services from a chiropractic physician must first seek pre-approval from a non-medical source to determine medical necessity, even before being examined by the chiropractic physician. Cigna has contracted the company ASH to provide the reviews for decision-making. The question here is how can medical necessity be determined without a thorough exam by a qualified health care professional?
